The lecture analyses the award procedures for housing construction projects in Vienna and criticises the lack of transparency and the strong influence of the City of Vienna on prize juries and decision-making processes in architectural competitions, negotiation procedures, property developer competitions and the property advisory board. It calls for more independent architectural competitions and greater involvement of external experts to ensure quality and objectivity in the allocation of public funds. It also proposes concrete measures and discussions with institutions to promote reforms in the interests of greater transparency and quality.
